It has been a while since my last update, apologies for that. I've had a busy winter. Trips to Nevada & Utah, Ecuador, and most recently Italy, have kept me rather busy. So here are a few catch up shots. Enjoy. The following is the Control Tower, located in Coyote Buttes South - It was a great day, I had the entire place to myself, followed by meeting G. Brad Lewis (aka Volcanoman) in the parking lot. Brad was an extremely nice (and rather famous) photographer of all things lava. Check out his work.
The elevated Kinzie St. railroad bridge, as seen from Kinzie St, during a mid-summer foggy dusk. The barge was removing material from the Riverwalk Extension project. It was massive and yet deceptively small in this photo. I thought it added a nice element to bottom portion of the picture.
Navy Pier - 4th of July fireworks show. Taken from the Adler Planetarium. On a techie side note, this pano was created from 16, 36 megapixel, images. It's native dimensions are 10 feet by 3 feet!
A spring thunderstorm as seen from the Signature Lounge, Chicago IL.
A spectacular sunrise overlooking Lake Powell from Alstrom Point, Utah.
Star trails taken over a 3 hour period at the Stone Wings location in Bisti Badlands, New Mexcio. An amazing location.
Venus and the Milky Way rising over Alstrom Point, Utah.
I am pleased to announce the redesign of BenjaminParkerPhotography.com! This it the most interactive and user-friendly version of the site to date. Utilizing hybrid hosting from both Squarespace 6 and 500px, I am now able to quickly upload, organize, and sell prints. For this reason alone, I am extremely excited about this launch. But wait, there's more...
With this redesign, I have added the option to purchase images directly from my Portfolio page. Simply click on the image and at the bottom of the page you will see the "Buy Print or Canvas" link. This will take you to my 500px marketplace, where you can specify the print size, mounting, and framing options with a real-time preview of the finished product. Once your order is placed, it will be printed and drop-shipped directly to your door. I believe you will be very pleased with this super convenient method of purchasing high-quality prints. During this weekend only, there is a 25% off Valentine's Day sale. A perfect gift for that special Valentine in your life!
Digging through older shots while attempting a re-build of the website. This was taken in Mesquite Dunes at Death Valley National Park. My first outing with the 5D Mark III.
The Hyatt Center in Chicago. Willis Tower looms to the south.
Taken from the summit of Eureka Dunes (~700 ft up from the basin) in Death Valley National Park, California.
Happy Thanksgiving from a very cold Chicago! Take from the signature lounge.
A young girl was tending a herd of goats in Jerash, Jordan. She was kind enough to allow me an opportunity to photograph a prized goat. He has spectacular ears.
Zion Narrows in the fall.
Atallah, our Bedouin guide for the Wadi Rum desert. Atallah works for Jordantracks.com, a highly recommend guide service/travel agency in Jordan, specializing in the Wadi Rum region. Our three days in the Wadi Rum were the highlight from our trip to Jordan.
Wandering the streets of downtown Chicago, I noticed some interesting texture behind a nicely folded American flag - so I took a picture.
My personal favorite from the train series. En route from Krakow to Lublin. A white gravel road in Polish fields.
The Camels of Jordan, as seen in Petra.
I want one.
